About This Little Hobo Fabric Face Masks

What fabrics are your masks made of?

I use 100% cottons and cotton-rich blends in a few different weights and weaves. Details are provided for each mask, check out my face mask collections to see the options. Where the exact details of fibre content and weave have not been available, I have burn-tested and used reference guides in order to make an informed identification. You might like to check out this informative resource all about cotton.

What if I can’t find the colour, print or pattern that I’m looking for?

Drop me a line! I’ll be adding to my range and I’d love to know what you’re looking for. I hate waste, we send far too much perfectly good stuff to landfill purely because it’s no longer wanted. So, I’d much rather provide what customers want than stock up on metres of fabric that just sits in storage because there's limited demand and I can’t bring myself to add to our growing waste textile mountains.

Does your mask have a nose-bridge wire?

Absolutely! My exclusive bridge-wire extends the full breadth of the mask and will follow the unique contours of your nose and cheek bones, maximising comfort and minimising fogging of spectacles and sunglasses. The soft stainless-steel wire is mechanically looped at the ends and triple-stitched into a lightly cushioned channel. Malleable and hygienic, safe and secure, it won't rust or dislodge with repeated wash and wear.

Does your mask have a filter pocket?

Indeed it does. Discreetly hidden under the top pleat there is a pocket opening inside the mask where you can add a filter of your choice.

Do you supply filters?

No. My skills are in garment design and construction and I figure I should leave the filter supply to those who know way more about the science behind viral barrier materials than me. I see little point being the middle-woman between you and these suppliers but I’m more than happy to offer advice and opinion from personal experience of using readily available household paper materials in my own masks.

How do I secure the mask to my face?

After much research, experimentation and trialling, I came up with an elastic fastening that I believe offers the most comfort possible. As preferred by many health care professionals, my elastic loops around the neck and/or head to avoid ear-chafing and discomfort. You can choose black or white elastic and it can be adjusted to fit with a matching sliding wooden bead.

Can I have ear loops on my mask?

Yes, you can easily customise the This Little Hobo elastics to ear loops. I don’t supply masks with ear loops as standard because I have no way of assessing the loop size required to comfortably fit each individual customer – and my masks are all about comfort and fit! Simple customisation instructions are supplied with all orders.

How do I know what size I need?

You’ll find a handy size-guide via a tab in the product pages – please refer to this before making your purchase. Or see here if you’d like to assess your size before you browse the range.

Do you make children’s face masks?

Yes. My masks come in sizes Extra Small to Large. Extra small suits most pre-teens or ‘tweens’ and teens. Please refer to the size guide. I will grow my range of ‘kid-friendly’ prints and patterns to demand – currently I’m being guided by my nieces and nephew! If your son or daughter, grandchild, niece or nephew is after something particular, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

What about guys with big beards?

You’re in luck! My Large size is designed specifically with you in mind. And my unique elastics, coupled with the secure fit of my bridge wire, offer flexibility in the way you can wear your mask – hook the bottom elastic loop under your beard if you prefer this to around your neck (or you can customise to ear loops of course).

Are your masks machine washable?

Yes. The This Little Hobo Fabric Face Mask has been wash-tested in an automatic washing machine at temperatures of 40 to 60 degrees. Washing advice is supplied with your order and the temperature suitable for each fabric is stated on the packaging label on each individual mask.

About ordering, fulfilment and delivery

How do I place an order?

It's super-easy! Check out my products and hit 'buy now' then follow the steps through secure payment gateway. You can browse through the options in each collection by clicking on the photos for a gallery view. If you're shopping for a face mask, pick your favourite, select the colour or print from the first pull-down list, then select your size and your preferred elastic and label colours (optional - I will choose for you if you prefer).

What payment options are available?

You can pay for your order by credit or debit card (Visa and Mastercard), or by PayPal. See clause 13 - 14 in my Privacy Policy for further information. Credit and debit card payments are processed by the secure payment gateway, Stripe – this is my preferred payment method but the choice is entirely yours.

How long will my order take to arrive?

I aim to fulfil all orders within 3 days of receipt. When dealing with large volume orders, I may be forced to extend this time, but I will let you know if there is a chance your order will be delayed. Once I have made your order, delivery time is dependent upon the service you choose at checkout. Please see my Delivery Policy for further details. If you need your order urgently or would like to use a different Royal Mail service to those listed, please contact me.

How will my order be packaged?

My masks are supplied flat and individually wrapped in food-grade bags. Orders of up to 5 masks will be shipped in protective corrugated paper envelopes. Larger orders will be boxed or securely wrapped. Packaging is environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable, please reuse and recycle if you can. In this same spirit of sustainability, larger orders may be shipped in re-used packaging, which will be recyclable whenever possible.

What delivery service do you use?

I use Royal Mail’s Click and Drop service. All orders are taken to a central Post Office counter where I receive proof of postage.

How much does delivery cost?

I offer free UK delivery using Royal Mail’s 2nd class service. Other domestic and international services are available to choose at checkout. Please see my Delivery Policy for prices.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. I have quite a few customers in the USA and Europe and I'd be delighted to go global!

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the personal and hygiene nature of the products, I’m afraid I can’t offer refund on ‘buyer regret’ requests. This does not affect your statutory rights – in the unlikely event that your order is not up to scratch or you feel it is not as advertised, please contact me to discuss. See my Refund Policy for more information.
